2022 Chevrolet Corvette – The new Chrysler Stingray is a great sports car. For those of you who don’t know, the ‘Vette is actually a convertible. The ‘Vette is such a pleasure to drive, no matter how you navigate through the twist and turns or just cruising around town. It seems glued to the road and agile, yet it still glides effortlessly over bumpy road surfaces.

I love driving the Chevy Corvette because of its smooth ride and its pleasing sound from its stereo system. In fact, I have the Vette’s stereo system installed in my car. Now, I want a car with a stereo as good as the Corvette. So when the local Chevrolet dealer shows it off, I am ready to pull out my checkbook. Well, I don’t pull out my checkbook that often. More often than not, I use the checkbook for other things – like buying gift cards for my wife, for instance.
So when I go to their showroom, I have my checklist with me. The first thing on my checklist is the Chevy Corvette ZR-2. This is one of the most powerful Stingray engines ever put into a vehicle. The next item on my checklist is the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Performance Aluminum Clutch Collection.
That’s right, the high performance aluminum clutch set made by GM. The clutch system on the Stingray uses twenty-three precious cast iron pots, which are connected to six pins. These pots hold a tiny flywheel that spins a giant magnet, which spins a giant gear. All of this movement creates powerful torque and incredible acceleration.
Now let’s talk about power. This is where the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray really shines. The GM engineers took a long, narrow design and applied it to a smaller, lighter, and more powerful engine. The result was a supercar that could sprint to a top speed of around 138 miles per hour, and the standard Stingray has a five.5-liter V8 engine.
The standard Stingray also comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, but a Stingray Convertible comes with a seven-speed automatic. Chevrolet has really upped the ante with these two cars. With the new convertible, GM has taken their styling game to a whole new level. The front fender and the hood now extend backwards, creating a much wider, taller look. Up front, a much sturdier lip has been fitted to help dissipate that unwelcome under-the-seat vibration.
To keep things interesting, a new four-door body style called the C6 has been added to the Corvette line. This new model adds large, sweeping side air vents to help reduce air resistance for greater fuel efficiency, and a large rear diffuser to improve aerodynamics. In addition, the base model is available in only two colors – black and gray. But a future model year may see the introduction of a color option – say, black and gold. It’s unclear at this time if a black Stingray with a yellow interior would be a hit with female motorists.
As you can see, it’s hard to pin down the difference between a Stingray and a 2022 Chevrolet Corvette. They’re both powerful, high performing, fast, and sporty sedans. It will come down to your own personal taste and what you find most attractive, but rest assured that there is no comparison between the two supercars. For now, a Stingray is just a Stingray.
The 2022 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by an innovative, new four-seat configuration which utilizes an automatic transmission. This is the most radical departure from conventional wisdom regarding sportiness and high fuel economy. By switching to an automatic transmission, General Motors has ensured that its flagship vehicle receives its official entry into the ranks of mainstream NASCAR drivers.
A manual transmission will remain a standard equipment on a Stingray for the foreseeable future, as it is the car’s last true model year. (The possibility of a Grand Cherokee receiving an automatic transmission in the future is unlikely, however.)
Steering, suspension, and powertrain have also undergone some changes for the better. The Stingray’s suspension is designed to provide more sensitive handling while optimizing its bodywork. Its stronger and sturdier front end is optimized for better traction control, which in turn helps minimize wake turbulence and increases overall stability. Standard on all models, a eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will ensure that even race track conditions will be manageable for drivers of all skill levels.
High quality Brembo brakes are standard, and new Stingray packages include performance exhaust with a two-pipe system, variable valve timing, and two-pipe exhaust. The horsepower level is expected to increase from last year’s GT, with both the ZR and CTS models receiving slight increases to their base engines.
However, the new 2022 Chevrolet Corvette will be equipped with Magnetic Ride Control, which is a first for a mainstream production car. With Magnetic Ride Control, the weight is further optimized for greater fuel efficiency and greater agility, with the result being an improvement in overall economy while simultaneously reducing the chance of accidents due to its sensitive nature.
